Campaigns Director, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy
Amelia leads SACE’s High Risk Energy team to encourage utilities to invest in energy efficiency and clean energy, and to phase out the oldest, dirtiest coal plants in the Southeast. As chair of SACE’s staff Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, she guides strategies with an eye toward including the full diversity of southeastern communities. She also represents the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy in multiple coalition efforts, including as a founding member of the Just Energy Circle.
Before joining SACE, Amelia helped establish an organization that facilitates a clean energy transition for economically vulnerable coalfield communities in West Virginia. She also campaigned for clean energy initiatives in several states, and for Gulf Coast wetland preservation to protect New Orleans, her previous home. Amelia is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Green Corps, the field school for environmental organizing.
